ReplyDeleteHey girl! I didn't know you "read" my blog! Spot metering is...complicated. I don't even understand it completely. I can tell you what I did though. I pressed the spot metering button and pointed the center of my camera onto a shadowy area so that it would blow out the background. If I were to do the opposite and point it at a brighter subject, the background would go black. If I should manually and use this feature, I open or close the aperture 2 stops depending on what look I'm trying to achieve. I could get all camera speak on you, but I'm sure there's a tutorial online somewhere that explains it better than I ever could.
