Three has been fun with her. She's got such an active mind and she's so eager to learn everything and do things herself. She's become my helping girl and does everything from dishes, to folding laundry, to sweeping the floor or stairs. Lately, her favourite question is, " Mama, what can I do to help you?" Got to love her for her sweet, willing heart. :)
"Mama, please may I towl you someseen?"
Every night Emmy is the last one out. She's the thirsty one, the "Mama, my back is itchy" one, the "Mama, my button came undone again! Could you please do it up for me? I need you to do it up for me" one.
She drives me crazy.
In effort to enjoy my children more, I've begun giving each of them a few minutes right before bed to share whatever is on their minds. Last night, Emmy shared that she knew monsters aren't reeeallly real, but that she's still a tiny bit afraid of them...and jellyfish. And that she has a hard time not playing with the soap in the bathroom because it feels so gooey and bubbly. And that she reeeeeeeaaallly really thinks that mini chocolate bars would be a good treat for working hard at her letters, numbers, shapes, and reading. She's on lesson 11 in the 100 easy lessons book. This is big stuff.

Animated much?
My kids are all crazy expressive. They must get it from their Daddy. ;)

Addie in her highchair: "Mama! I aw done my waffo. I STUCK!"
Emmy: "Don't worry, Mama, I know what to do. We haff to starb her until her tummy gets little again and then we can juss pop her out of dere!"
*Note to self* No more Winnie the Pooh without parental guidance.

I smell a familiar and unwelcome reek as I enter the room where Addie is on the floor playing with baby dolls.
Me: "Phew! You are stinky!"
Addie: "Papa did it."
Me: "Papa's in Idaho. I'm pretty sure it was you, you little stinker."
Addie: "PAPA stinky! hehehe"

"Back to bed, Punk!"
Addie's been waking up verrrry cranky from her naps the last few days so I send her to the family room with a stack of books. She either falls back to sleep or forgets to be grumpy after a little while.
Lazy Afternoon
Yesterday we finished up school in the morning so we read a mountain of books together and chatted with Auntie Tammy on the phone all afternoon. Some days are crazy busy, it's so nice to have a relaxing afternoon.
Who could ask for anything more?
Thanks for the adorable hat, Ang! It doubles as a paci holder. Handy feature, that. :)

Higher! Like a flyer!
One from a couple of weeks ago. I completely blew the focus and the lighting was no good, and yet...
How could I keep it to myself? Photographer vs. Mama.
Mama wins. :)

October...
left a lot of leaves on the lawn, but they sure were pretty while they lasted.
P.S. Dor, do you see Auntie Peggy in her face?
"I tate you picher, Mama. Weddy?!"
My Addie girl is talking up a storm now. She's always been vocal, but about two weeks ago, she began constructing actual sentences. She's so pleased to be able to communicate with words.
Normal
Me: "Can I just get one normal picture of you two?"
Them: "Ok!"
Nice.
sooc - I love the lighting on this porch. Wish I could use it more.

In case you've ever wondered...
what boy-made machine gun sounds effects look like freeze-framed. ;)
Haha
Meet Copper (aka. world's most patient dog)
Our friends here in WI have a couple of wonderful old retrievers. My kids love them to bits.
5 months
My Mr. Chumpawumpkins.
Just popping in to let you all know that things are going well here in Wisconsin. I've been so swamped with getting settled in, homeschooling, and the day to day Mom/household stuff that I've hardly had my camera out and I'm waaaay behind with emails. If you've written, please bear with me!

Wisconsin or bust
I've gotten a few emails asking why we're moving to Wisconsin instead of Idaho so I thought I'd blog about it. Wisconsin holds something for us that Idaho presently does not: a job. :) The Lord has opened the door through our friends there and has provided everything that we could possibly need to sustain us. We could not be more thankful for this answer to prayer, though it's a bittersweet transition for all of us due to having to be separated from family and friends that we love so dearly.
We've got two full days on the road ahead of us, so please keep us in prayer. I have a fierce phobia of being confined in a small space with 4 young, whining, tired children, so I'll need a whole lot of grace. I've come up with a few ideas to try to make this trip a pleasant experience, but one little migraine could shoot them down, stomp on their lightbulby heads, and crush them into a fine powder. The kind of powder that can waft into the nostrils of small children, making them sneeze violently, thus waking the over-tired, over-stimulated, over-bloated infant, who would in turn screech out in startled discontentment, agitating even the most steady and composed nervous system of any person within a 2 mile radius.
I think you can see where I'm going with this.
On the up side, if we were going all the way to Idaho on this trip, it would be FIVE days. F-I-V-E. See how the Lord is good?

Nehemiah
"What in the world, Son?? You've gotten filthy!"
"Sorry, Mom. I was building the walls of Jerusalem!"
And a fine wall it was. I wish I'd gotten a photo of it.

Isn't this the sweetest??
One of my favourite photos EVER! My sis-in-law Ann took this of my husband and daughter a little while ago. He was all filthy from sawing down a big tree that had broken in half after a severe thunderstorm. It wasn't safe to leave the rest standing.
"Thanks for the bear, Gramma!"
He hugs it tight...and then bites it as hard as he can. haha
He's wearing a onesie that my m-i-l saved. It was Josh's. Hard to believe he ever fit into it.
Momento
Joshy found this little bird's nest and gave it to me for a gift. We can only take the bear necessities with us to Wisconsin, so I took this to remember his thoughtfulness by.

I know...
you're all getting sick of this window. This is probably the last shot I'll get in it since we're moving in 5 days. Winconsin, here we come.

New shoes
I've had Paolo Nutini's 'New Shoes' song rolling around in my head for the last few weeks. Thanks, Heather. :)
This is the brace he wears for 22-23 hours a day. It keeps his feet from turning back in and up into the clubfoot position.

I can't express...
How happy it makes me to see his little feet. He gets to have 1-2 hours out of his brace every day for cleaning, stretching and airing them out.
I shot a whole bunch series with this dreadful white rug. On ISO 1600. Because, I'm a tard. Let's just pretend I added texture, ok? :)
Nestled
How's that for an original title? haha I cannot brain, I've got the dumb.
Isn't he beautiful though? He's turning into such a little boy. He giggles and squeals quite a bit now. He's still a crankapuss for a good part of the day, but he's so happy and sweet the rest of the time that it makes up for it.

"Nu nee nu nee nu..."
"Sprink-o-leen the dirt, I'm sprink-o-leen the dirt. Lalalalala!"
It's a good thing this wasn't for a clothing shoot or anything. :P
New slips from www.scarletstitch.com . Another outtake.
This looks much cooler on here than in PS. Hmm.

Floating By
As some of you know, product photography is not one of my strong points. I'm so glad to have the site ones done so I can play with the fun stuff.
This is the Natural Claire slip. New from www.scarletstitch.com. I LOVE it because it's so easy to photograph. It's not as tricky as white.
Natural slip with a Sunday Sash
This is a 2 yr dress over a 3 year slip on my 21 month old. This combo comes up to my 3 year old's shins.
They're here!
A few months ago I was bemoaning the fact that my girls were shooting up and their dresses were getting too short for them. I looked for slips and couldn't find anything suitable, so I pitched the idea to my sisters at www.scarletstitch.com . I love what they came up with!
This was right before Addie dumped a whole handful of dirt onto big sissy's back. Nice.
