"The Beast"

I lifted this off of my s-i-l Jen's blog since I was too in the middle of everything to pull my camera out yesterday. Josh needed a rig for his yardwork biz (take note of how I'm learning the native language - even our van is a rig). It smells like my dad, makes squeaky cricket noises, and bumps and bounces as you ride along. In other words, it's perfect.

"You have strong convictions, but President Obama says that doesn’t matter. He’s ready to rescind the Conscience Clause.

"The Conscience Clause was implemented by former President George W. Bush to give physicians and nurses the choice to act according to their conscience — to not participate in abortion procedures if it conflicts with their personal convictions. If President Obama makes this damaging move, if he reverses the Conscience Clause, pro-life doctors and nurses will be forced into performing abortion procedures, despite their individual beliefs.

"The announcement was made Friday, March 6, 2009. Since the official announcement was made, the public now has 30 days to file comments with the White House ... so we’ve got 30 days to make our voices heard at the White House.Make a difference in this nation and stand for the freedom to act according to your conscience.

He caught me a nice big one.

From two summers ago. I miss our days at the creek.

Trips to Disneyland - 0

Ponies in the backyard - 0

The latest and greatest of everything - not so much

How much they love their daddy - "All the way up to HEAVEN and back!"

Can't very well trump that.

Helping Daddy do push-ups. Low, low light. ISO 1600.

Everyday Miracle

Everyday Miracle, originally uploaded by iamaprice(Amanda).

Mr. Walnut is doing everything right on schedule at 9 months. He's such a busy little joy. I believe that God does miracles every day, we have only to look with eyes of faith to see them all around us.

How grateful I am to be living in this time in this country. How thankful I am for Dr. Ponsetti and Dr. Robert Cady.

He recovered pretty quickly.

You would cry too if it happened to you, buh buh buh buh buh!

Oh, that's c-c-cold. One from the Wisconsin archives. I miss the W's. I miss Copper and Penny. I don't miss all that snow.

In Conversation with young Mr. Walnut:

"Mamamama!"

"Hi Nutter."

"Dada? Dada?"

"He's at a jobsite. He'll be home in a little while."

"Nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh."

"What's that? You are hungry for a bucket of chocolate? Me too! Let's go get some."

He rolls his rrrrrrrrrrrr's and growls in low tones at the sweet elderly ladies that try their hardest to crack his tough as nails Mr. Man exterior. "Rrrrude! Rrrrrude!"

He sings opera on occasion and makes a very convincing cockatiel call too. You know, the call they make when the cat is closing in. That one.

More good stuff

Love Bob Bennett! These songs are like a hug. Familiar and warm.

Back in Time for Twenty-five Cents

A few days ago Josh came home with a cassette tape he'd picked up at the thrift store for Joshy. He knew that Joshy would love it since The Sons of the Pioneers did a lot of singing in his Roy Rogers movies. A couple of songs into it I heard a familiar refrain, "All day I faced the barren waste without a taste of water. Coooool water." Dad used to sing that all the time. So girls, this is for you:

Hehe! I still get this look from Em from time to time. She was so mad at me for putting that headband on her. Unimaginable that her hair is halfway down her back now. She was such a tiny thing.
