From February

From February, originally uploaded by iamaprice(Amanda).

I can't believe how fast the last two months have flown by. When I took this, we'd just begun to pack the house up for our move. We're all settled into our "studio apartment" now and I quite like it. I haven't felt much like taking new photos lately but I no doubt will eventually. All of the packing, moving, and unpacking stuff has just taken the wind out of my sails.

I've found another group of midwives in the area. I can't do a VBAC here at the local hospital unless I come in at the very last second, so the plan is to have the baby at a birthing center 50 minutes away.
I hope I make it.
A few of the CNMs from the center do rotations here in town, so at least I don't have to travel so far for check-ups. My first appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I'm looking forward to it actually. I'm so relieved to have options, even if I do end up having to have another c-section.

In other news, I licensed my first photo last week. I was contacted by a communications agency in Brazil who wanted to use a photo of Addie in Scarlet Stitch duds for a perfume client of theirs. I was holding my breath the whole time, praying it wasn't a scam, but everything worked out marvelously and I learned a lot in the process. I'll try to get a file of the finished ad to post here when it's done so you can see.

I'm nodding off now so it's off to bed for me. I'll try to blog more often now that we're settled and back onto our schedule...well sorta. It's 40 minutes past my bedtime. Do you see the sacrifices I make for you, my dear blog readers??? haha Nite, nite.

Sometimes composition doesn't matter

Guess who's up again? Look at the time. Oiy.

This is so her. Always packing babies around. Chirping and cooing to them, giving them schnuggles, bouncing them on her knees and chanting:

Giddy-up, horsey
Go to town
Buy some candy
and don't fall down

Only, it sounds more like this:

"Goosey shuushy, doe faw DOOOOW!"

Her Auntie Kristie made this blanket for her to wrap her babies in, but she prefers to wear it as a princess cape.

They're mine

I'm so proud. haha

Addie is sleeping at last. 5 quick things and I'm out.

1. I had an ultrasound on Tuesday. Tuesday? Yes...maybe. Whatever.

2. My fav tech was out on maternity leave. :(

3. Her sub had no detectable sense of humor.

4. She was pretty sure that the baby is a boy. Joshy is so excited. He's determined to learn every way to tie a knot because he wants to teach his brother. He thinks we should call him Caleb. We agree. :) Not sure about the middle name yet. We like to leave these things until the last second, then put out a maybe, and then change our minds. It's just to confuse you.

5. The baby is breech and in pretty much the exact spot Addie was. The tech said that he looks to be more about 27 weeks, which isn't shocking. I don't mind avoiding induction. I'm trying not to worry about another c-section since there's lots of time for him to turn, but I dread the possibility, especially in a new hospital with new staff. I have a dreadful time dealing with change and there has been so much of it over the last three years that I am quite overcome sometimes.

6. I guess I have six. There's a chance that the baby may have a club foot. Again, not surprising since I have one myself and some of my relations have semi-clubby feet. It didn't phase me too much when my midwife gave me the report, but I confess, now the thought of having him go through surgery and then the long, long recovery has got me so low. I remember waking up in pain many times as a young child. May dad would come and rub my sore foot and ankle until the throbbing stopped and I could go back to sleep.

I know that if it is so, God has brought it about for a reason, but I do ask that you would keep these things in prayer. I need more strength than I have right now.

Nightgale

Her Auntie Jen got her the sweetest nightgown for her birthday. Papa and Mommom found one for Emmy too. Emmy insists that it's a "Nightga-o" not a nightgown. She would like to wear it all day, every day, and also to town. I'll have to get a shot of them together. You can tell they think they're the most beautiful pink princesses. It's quite amusing.

The Beloved "Pengy"

Her first lovey. She finally gave him back to his rightful owner (my s-i-l Ann), but her face still lights up when she sees him.

Go to sleep, little one

If she could sleep, I could sleep, and then we'd both be sleeping. Sigh Josh and I are heading to Oneonta first thing in the morning. This does not bode well. :P

Addie has a new favourite baby. Thank-you, Auntie Kristie! She has replaced "Pengy" which was quite the feat let me tell you.

'Boy Rogers'

'Boy Rogers', originally uploaded by iamaprice(Amanda).

Josh calls him 'Boy Rogers' and 'Baby Crockett' to tease him. He gets quite indignant naturally, being a man and all.

I thought the cowboy thing was just a phase. Judging from how thread bare that old shirt of Daddy's is getting, I was clearly wrong.

He's not very good friends with my camera, but he asked me to take some of him the other day. I think he really just wanted to be up on the dresser like his sisters. haha

Miss Pink

This is from a few days ago. She wanted to wear this dress, which fits her more like a top now. I don't know why. It's makes her itchy and she wants it right off again after a few minutes. I had to get a few shots of her in it before packing it away. She humored me very well inspite of her tiredness.
