It's been awhile

I'm still alive! Josh has returned to work so I've been busy settling back into my place as chief child wrangler, teacher, potty enabler, cook, etc. It's a bit of an adjustment though not as difficult as I'd anticipated. Adeline lets me sleep well most nights, but she's still wanting to party till 3 or 4 AM a couple nights a week. Last night was one of those and I'm feeling it, so I'm off to bed.

Lady of Mystery

Her peepers are blue.

Even pretty girls have a bad eye day once in awhile.

So far, she's the only one of my babies that likes pacifiers.

One from last fall.

"I'll trade you this rockin' clump of dead grass for that sorry old wannabe tricycle."

"Ooo, ya - wait. Fugedaboudit!"

Dancing with Spicey Bear

Annoyed at Joshy for making off with her shopping cart.

Because every woman knows that shopping is a full contact sport. :)

3 weeks

The weather was amazingly mild here last week. It even got up to 70 degrees on Saturday! That's 21 C for you Canadians. It was wonderful to get out of the house.

"Howdy Ma'ams. Thass what real cowboys say when dey see two owd ladies."

Superman Cowboy and his sidekick Punkins. We brought the umbrella in case of rain. The kids thought it made for a swell tent.

"Sca-wee bugs!" She finally overcame her fear of the horrific seedlings on the bridge, and took great delight in throwing them into the creek.

Addie and I went out by ourselves on Saturday. I hadn't planned on taking these, but the weather was lovely, the colours were rich, and she didn't seem to mind. I call this the 'Purple Blanket Overkill Series'.

Two Years in Glory

It's hard to believe that my dad has been gone for 2 years already. Time takes the edge off of the ache, but I still miss him very much.

After he died, my mom was kind enough to give me his violin. I want to learn to play it someday, but not yet. There are too many reminders of the last time I saw him. What an unbearable thing it is to stand helpless while a loved one is suffering. I'm so thankful that the Lord took him quickly.

"Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away." Isaiah 51:11

"Beebee! Addie! Ha-ow! Cuuuute!"

Emmy adores her "beebee sisser". She'd just woken up from her nap and had to come: "Tiss it! Tiss it!" What's a tiss without slobber? :D
